Dave Matthews is featured on the cover and interviewed in the December 2009 issue of Acoustic Guitar magazine. It has been 10 years since Dave last graced the cover and 1999 with Tim Reynolds and with the band in 1996.
Dave discusses his playing style, his fascination with rhythmic patterns, LeRoi Moore and recording "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King". The article also features some of Dave Matthews guitar riffs from various "Big Whiskey" songs.
Dave continues reflects on comments about being technically uninclined and being ask by Rob Cavallo to play solos on the album..."Funny The Way It Is", "Dive In" and "Squirm" to be exact. Dave says "Rob Cavallo made me play guitar solos on. I was like, “Why don’t you play ’em? Why doesn’t Tim play ’em?” And he’s like, “You play ’em.”
