Dave Matthews Band New Album Slated for July 2007 Release
February 3rd, 2007
In a recent issue of Billboard magazine, there was an article printed called “12 Months of Tunes”a broad rundown of upcoming 2007 albums releases. On that long list of artists was the Dave Matthews Band.
Reports of DMB returning to the studio came as early as April 2006 , but since then there has been little talk on when the public would see the new album. The only speculation about the new album came from a little chatter with blogs from both Stefan Lessard , Rashawan Ross and a couple appearances by Dave Matthews in different studios at Pennsylvania and Tennessee .
The most recent release by the Dave Matthews Band was in November 2006 with "The Best of What’s Around Vol.1” According to the band’s official website this release came as a contractual obligation with their record company RCA.
Quote:
"Dave Matthews Band will be releasing a Greatest Hits record in the near future in order to fulfill an obligation to their label, RCA Records.
In order to shape the Greatest Hits combination of studio/live songs into the best possible release, DMB would like to gather feedback from its dedicated fan base.
Let us know what songs you would like to have featured on DMB’s Greatest Hits!"
This recent report by Billboard states that the new release will be releases under RCA records.Neither DMB’s official website or RCA Records have yet to announce any official date for the new release.
In the past Dave Matthews Band has created a new studio album website that contain news and updates leading up the release date. This has yet to be done for this upcoming release.
