Rob Cavallo announced as producer for new DMB album

Dave Matthews Band fans have been anticipating a new studio album for quite some time and dmband.com officially announced Rob Cavallo as the producer for DMB's forthcoming studio effort. This news was announced on the same day as the 2008 Summer Tour Dates.

This news came shortly after Stefan Lessard mentioned in a blog that the Band would be heading back to start pre-production for the new album.  

Rumblings of the band hitting the studio again began in 2006 and DMB continued with efforts in the studio during 2007. After not getting the vibe they were looking for, they hit the road again and proceeded to road-test and few new songs as they have been well known to do in the past. Dave Matthews Band have plans to road-test a few new tune on this summer tour as mentioned by DMB's management.

Fans attending DMB shows this summer will be the first to hear the latest material from Dave Matthews Band as the band debuts songs from their forthcoming record! 

In addition, long-time friend, Tim Reynolds has joined the band in the studio. Tim Reynolds has also contributed his work on their first three studio albums. 

Who is Rob Cavallo? 

Rob Cavallo is a music producer,and currently a senior VP at A&R and Staff Producer for Reprise Records. Rob is well known for signing a "little" band called Green Day. He has co-produced almost every album, since their multi-million seller "Dookie" to their most recent conceptual punk-rock opera "American Idiot".

Cavallo has also produced records for Jawbreaker, Goo Goo Dolls, Chris Isaak, and Alanis Morissette, plus a number of motion picture sound tracks. He also recently produced Jewel's 6th album, entitled Goodbye Alice in Wonderland.

This will be the first time Rob Cavallo has worked with Dave Matthews Band. This will be DMB's 7th studio recorded album.
