MIKE DOUGHTY's solo album Haughty Melodic hits stores May 3rd. The former SOUL COUGHING frontman's upcoming release will feature a duet with DAVE MATTHEWS called "Tremendous Brunettes" . . . Atlanta rapper T.I. will be featured in an episode of Fox's teen drama The OC. T.I. plays himself in a concert scene performing his hit "Bring Em Out" for a spring break crowd . . . Texas native ERYKAH BADU launched her new record label entitled Control FreaQ at the South by Southwest Festival in Austin. The label's first signee is New Orleans based MC/lyricist JAY ELECTRONICA . . .

Singer-songwriter EDUARDO "LALO" GUERRERO JR. died March 17th in Rancho Mirage, California. The eighty-eight-year-old was once dubbed the "father of Chicano music" by President Clinton . . .
