Dave Matthews Band in 3D

In a report by mydesert.com, Dave Matthews Band has a 3D concert film being released in Regal theatres that support 3D movies, coming soon (December 11-17). The concert film will feature DMB's performance from Austin City Limits recorded and filmed back in August and aired on PBS in October. The film will also include additional performances by Ben Harper and Gogal Bordello taken from the All Points West and Lalapalooza.

The concert film is being released by AEG Network Live who is also working on a live Phish 3D Concert event from Festival 8, and will be released in 2010.

Other artists like U2 have used the 3D experience to offer fans another medium to see a "live" show. While there is nothing like actually being at a show, this media is a popular and cheaper alternative and much better than just popping in a DVD. More news to come soon...
