Pair On Sightseeing Boat When Human Waste Dumped From Tour Bus

Two women who were on the Chicago River sightseeing boat in August of 2004 when human waste was dumped onto it from a Dave Matthews Band tour bus sued the band and the driver of the bus Monday.

Jacque and Denise Cotterot "suffered extreme nausea, vomitting and related physical and emotional ailments and maladies" when the bus dumped human waste from the Kinzie Street bridge at the Chicago River onto the tour boat on Aug. 8, 2004, according to the lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court.

The suit did not detail the relation between the two women, nor did it indicate why it took two years to file the suit after the incident.

As the bus traveled over the bridge, the suit says, the driver, Stefan A. Wohl, released the contents of the bus' waste tank "... directly onto the plaintiffs." The two were then covered with liquid human waste, which "entered their eyes and mouth [and] covered their hair and clothing."

The suit seeks unspecified damages.
