Dave Matthews Band just finished a short little run of shows for the 2007 season. If you missed the live webcast of the "Worlds Loudest Pep Rally", don't worry...AT&T Blue Room will be showing highlights of the shows later in the month.
On Tuesday, November 13th, DMB played the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, NJ as their last "Public" show of the year. DMB delivered for the fans with some great jams and special guests Eric Krasno from Soulive and Robert Randolph. Dave Matthews also played new song "Round and Round" for the first time.
"Round and Round" clocked at about a minute and is likely not finished yet, but it was explained by Dave that it was inspired by his son, who was born on June 19th, 2007. The songs lyrics has the line "Kill the king, kill the king, kills the kings and clowns"
"Kill the King" was one of a few new songs road tested during the 2006 tour, being played only 7 times.
Dave Matthews also stopped by the Rolling Stone offices before the 2 free Pep Rally shows at West Point on November 14th & 15th.
Dave took a few minutes to chat about his guitar-playing technique and how he deals with forgotten lyrics onstage. In addition, he played the new song "Round and Round".
