LeRoi Moore: 1961 - 2008

Reports this evening from Dave Matthews Band official website, dmband.com, states that saxophonist and one of the founding members of DMB has died.

We are deeply saddened that LeRoi Moore, saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, August 19, 2008, at Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center in Los Angeles from sudden complications stemming from his June ATV accident on his farm near Charlottesville, Virginia. LeRoi had recently returned to his Los Angeles home to begin an intensive physical rehabilitation program.

Leroi Moore was involved in an ATV accident on June 30th, 2008 and suffer a punctured lung and broken ribs. Dave Matthews had mentioned in various shows this year that Leroi was in good spirits and recovering, however he was readmitted to the University of Virginia Health System due to complications stemming from his accident.

Leroi Moore was 46.

We are deeply saddened by this news and our thought and prayers go out to Dave Matthew Band and Leroi's family and friends.
