LeRoi Moore not included in Grammys Tribute

The morning after the 51st annual Grammy Awards has left DMB fans quite angry. Saxophonist and founding member of Dave Matthews Band had no mention during their "tribute" montage. A running tradition for the Grammys to pay respects to those whom have passed in the music industry during the past year.

LeRoi Moore (1961-2008) passed away on August 19th, 2008 due to complications from an ATV accident. No mention of LeRoi was made at the Grammys, not even a 2 second shot of his picture as many other lesser-known artists received. The "Encore" video montage is likely prepared weeks prior to the Live broadcast, so this leaves the question, how could the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences forget about LeRoi, a well respected artist in the music industry?

In 1996, Dave Matthews Band won a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group for "So Much to Say" and have received multiple nominations.

Stefan Lessard voiced his opinion via twitter "It just goes to show how full of shit the Grammys have become".

DMB fans have been flooding networking sites like Twitter and Facebook as well as CBS.com, voicing their angst towards the oversight by the Grammys. Tribute or not, the DMB community will never forget our beloved, LeRoi Moore.
