UPDATE: 07/28/09 - Video Posted
The Dave Matthews Band will return to the David Letterman Show for two special appearances on July 27th and July 31st. The group has performed on the late night talk show several times over the years, including an outdoor concert on the roof of the Ed Sullivan building. What will be played is still unknown, although it is likely that “Why I Am” will appear on the set-list as it is said to be the next single to be released. We can probably expect other “Big Whiskey” favorites as well, and maybe a few surprises. You never know!
Dave Matthews Band will be featured on CBS News Sunday Morning, this Sunday, May 31st at (9:00-10:30 AM, EST). Anchored by Charles Osgood, the Dave Matthews Band makes its morning television debut, opening up to correspondent Anthony Mason about the sudden death of saxophonist LeRoi Moore and why the group almost broke up.
This is the first of a few interviews coming up within the next week as DMB promotes their new album "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King", which is in stores June 2nd.
UPDATE: 05/31/09 - Watch the Broadcast
Dave Matthews Band announced today that the Beacon Theatre show on June 1st will be streaming live on Hulu.com. This will be Hulu's first-ever live concert stream, beginning at 9:00 p.m. EST.
Fuse TV will be broadcasting the show live, but for those who don't get the Fuse channel can turn to their computers to get the same live broadcast, bringing DMB to multiple mediums.
The Beacon Theatre holds a mere 2800 people, being an oddly small crowd for a typical Dave Matthews Band concert. An exclusive show for lucky fans, who will get a taste of "Big Whiskey" that evening. The show is a benefit concert for DMB's own Bama Works Fund.
We've all witnessed the fruits of Dave's imagination evident in his ability to write songs and play music, both of which are amazing contributions to the musical milieu. But what I find even more phenomenal, is the way that he dabbles in other mediums with such apparent ease.
UPDATE: 05.13.09 Ticket Requests are NOW available via the warehouse. You can request up to 2 tickets and they are going for $80 each. Seats are very limited. Tickets will not be available to the public for this show. Good Luck!
The concert, presented by Madison Square Garden’s national music network Fuse and MSG Entertainment, will benefit Dave Matthews Band’s Bama Works Fund supporting charitable programs in the Charlottesville, VA area.
This show will be a live broadcast on Fuse TV. In addition Fuse will air the four-part original documentary “Dave Matthews Band: The Road to Big Whiskey”, a 360-degree experience which began on April 14 as the band launched their Spring 2009 tour with a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden.
