Dave & Tim Perform Private Show in Hamburg, Germany

dtbw.JPG

On July 6th, 2009, during the midst of a month long European tour, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds made a stop at Warner Music Group in Hamburg, Germany for an intimate private show. The show was intended for the press only, however there were a very small number of tickets given out as well.

The show was a total of 7 songs, 3 of which were from DMB's new studio album, "Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King". Songs performed were, "Funny The Way It Is", "Lying in the Hands of God" and "You and Me". This marking the first time that the new "Big Whiskey" tunes were played Dave & Tim style.

It is possible that "Funny The Way It Is" could have been played Dave & Tim one time prior to the Germany show. On June 27th, 2009, Dave and Tim stopped by the BBC Radio 2 studios to record a few songs, to be broadcast at a future date. The songs played are still unknown at this time.

DMB have been performing almost all the new "Big Whiskey" tracks during the 2009 Summer Tour and with this private Dave & Tim show there are 3 of those songs that have been played which give fans the classic unique acoustic spin on the new songs.

While it is highly unlikely that there was a taper a this show, thanks to youtube user pechisbeque...they captured video clips of "Funny The Way It Is" and "Lying in the Hands of God" performances.

For the time being, we have a little taste of "Big Whiskey" with a little Dave & Tim flavor.
