This summer has been crazy busy. Between swimming, writing, working on extra projects, being a Mom, and complaining about Republicans, I've barely had a moment to myself. That's why, I'm chagrined to admit, I only got a chance to listen to the Dave Matthews Band's Warehouse 8 CD yesterday. I have so much DMB on my ipod, that I mistakenly thought that I could stand to wait a little while before giving the new tracks a whirl. But before I knew it, a little while turned into a few months, which is pretty hilarious, considering how I checked the mailbox as if I was waiting on an acceptance letter to Harvard beforehand.
When we reflect on 4 years since the passing of LeRoi Moore, it seems like only yesterday that I was watching Roi perform at Hersheypark Stadium. Little did I know, that show would be not only the last time I would see him on stage, but the second to last show he would ever play. Sometimes tragic events like this need to happen to remind us, as humans, nothing should ever be taken for granted. Time is one of those things that can play to our advantage or be completely evil, but ultimataly our time on this earth is very short.
The August 30th issue of "Rolling Stone," features a candid interview with Dave Matthews. The nuts and bolts of the interview have already been reviewed here, but there are a couple of other noteworthy points that I found interesting.

In the newest issue of Rolling Stone magazine (August 30th, 2012), Patrick Doyle interviews Dave Matthews. They briefly discuss the new album, writing songs, the “hardcore” fans, drugs, Obama, LeRoi and the future of the band.
Even as brief as this interview is, this is one of the most honest interviews we have seen from Dave in a while and he does give some interesting insight where his mind is in the current state of the world. This is a theme that seems to be the trending topic of the upcoming album, “Away From The World” which will be released on September 11th.
