Keep Alive Those Hungry Eyes
Yesterday, like nearly every teen in my county, I went to see the "Hunger Games" at the town theater. Several months ago, upon the recommendation of a friend, I started reading the books, and like so many others, became immediately hooked, so I was eager to see how the movie would measure up to the text. I was also very excited to see local footage, as many of the forest scenes were shot within minutes of  my home. In my opinion, the movie was fantastic, and that is not an easy feat, since flicks are, so often, watered down versions of their literary predecessors. I won't give anything away, as I imagine many of you will be making this journey on your own, but I can't help but share some of my thoughts on this phenomenon, especially when those thoughts take me right back to DMB.

What will be played is still unknown, although it is likely that “Why I Am” will appear on the set-list as it is said to be the next single to be released. We can probably expect other “Big Whiskey” favorites as well, and maybe a few surprises. You never know!

Beacon Theatre show will be streamed live on Hulu

Dave Matthews Band announced today that the Beacon Theatre show on June 1st will be streaming live on Hulu.com. This will be Hulu's first-ever live concert stream, beginning at 9:00 p.m. EST.

Fuse TV will be broadcasting the show live, but for those who don't get the Fuse channel can turn to their computers to get the same live broadcast, bringing DMB to multiple mediums.

The Beacon Theatre holds a mere 2800 people, being an oddly small crowd for a typical Dave Matthews Band concert. An exclusive show for lucky fans, who will get a taste of "Big Whiskey" that evening. The show is a benefit concert for DMB's own Bama Works Fund.

A Dave of All Trades
This may come as a shock to some of you, but lately I've been doing a lot of thinking: about Dave Matthews. And not just for the obvious reason that I can almost always hear a DMB song playing in my head. Nor for the even more obvious reason that I have a continual countdown running in my brain until my next live show. The reason that I've been thinking so much about Dave recently is because I think he's an excellent example of the power of creativity, and the sometimes fine line between creativity and madness.

We've all witnessed the fruits of Dave's imagination evident in his ability to write songs and play music, both of which are amazing contributions to the musical milieu. But what I find even more phenomenal, is the way that he dabbles in other mediums with such apparent ease.
