This intense number was there from the very beginning when it was a Dave solo feature for the early days. Introduced in 2006 during the Dave Matthews solo shows and teased a few other times. Originally spelled "Ayhee" on dmband.com setlists and on the setlist for 5.12.06, until 04.22.07 at Radio City Music Hall with Tim Reynolds and was written as "Eh Hee" on the setlist.
Eh Hee debuted on the 2006 Dave and Friends cruise. Dave played it by himself a few months later before retiring it (save a couple of teases) for almost a year, when he played it with Tim on 4.22.07. It appeared again on 8.18.07 as a full DMB song.
A music video for a studio version of the song was released on iTunes on 9.4.07, with all of the instruments played by Dave.
This forgotten song made its claim to fame during the 1994 Fall tour as a new song that the band played regularly with alternating lyrics. It was played last on New Year's Eve 1994 and never again made a return despite attempts by fans to remind Dave of the song. It was recorded in the "Crash" sessions, but didn't make the final cut (Steve Lillywhite, Oct. 1998).
